some mistakes. Some roads might not exist at all. |
 |
Purple roads are suburban roads. They will have lots
of driveways and traffic. Use caution on all roads in
New Jersey. Thicker lines denote busier roads. Closer to
metropolitan areas all the roads will be busy just due
to the population. Be carefull. |

Expect more traffic here. Only a few town centers are
not busy or have businesses. |
 |
Red roads are highways or roads with a divider.
Usually will have speeds in excess of 50MPH. Some will
have no shoulder. Some highways are off limits to
bicycles. Some are not but all are dangerous. |
 |
Green roads are country roads. Houses are spaced
apart. Thicker lines denote busier roads. |
 |
Yellow outlined roads are scenic roads. Few or no
houses, farmland or forests. |
 |
Brown outlined roads are dirt roads. Southern Jersey
dirt roads are omitted because the sand is impossible to
cycle on. |
| |
Dead ends are not shown. Neighborhood roads are
omitted because they go nowhere. Due to the space
available on the map these roads are omitted. |
 |
Climbs are marked with a circle at the bottom and a
flag at the top. The number between them is the amount
of feet climbed. Most climbs will be 100 feet or
greater. Some will be 80 feet. In south Jersey 50 foot
climbs are noted. |
 |
Lakes, rivers and oceans. Not all streams are shown, just
the big ones. |
 |
Railroad tracks. Only commuter rails at this time. There are
other railroad tracks in the state so watch out when crossing.

of the groove. |
