About The Map

The roads on this map are based on data obtained from the United States Geological Surveys 1:100,000 scale maps. There are many edits, deletions and additions from the base data. Most road names are field checked for accuracy. There were, and will be, many edits.

The information on these maps is the result of 30 years of cycling experience in the area. I have up to this time, have traveled about 85% of the state by bicycle. As I ride , I take notes of road names, dirt roads, where parks, schools, and food stops are. It's a lot of work and I like to get lost.

I have set up the maps so they print out on 8.5 x11 paper. This makes them easier to carry in a pocket or bag and easier to read on a windy day. There is generous overlap between maps, about 1.5 miles. So you have time to change maps as you do your ride. On a typical 70 mile ride, I will take 3 sheets with me. I use on of those handlebar map holders.

There are some areas that are not covered by this map. They include the Camden metro area and the greater New York area (Hudson, Bergen, Essex & Union counties) These areas are too congested for safe, stress-less road riding. As of this time, there is no plan to include these areas to the map knowledge base.
